THINKING: YOUR UNSEEN WEAPON

Here in South Africa, I have a close friend, Greg — someone I meet almost every week for coffee and deep conversations. What I love most about our time together is this: Greg is a possibility thinker.
He naturally looks at what could be, not just what is.
And I’ve learned something powerful by watching his life and the decisions he’s made:
👉 Possibility thinking expands what’s possible.
When you open yourself to possibility, you don’t just think bigger — you act differently. And big thinkers don’t just change their own lives… they create possibilities for others. That mindset is contagious. You can’t help but feel more confident and ambitious around it.
A few years ago, Greg wanted a career change.
He explored e-commerce — a space crowded with competition and failure stories.
His first attempt didn’t work. But possibility thinkers don’t quit at the first setback. He kept learning, refining, and believing — and eventually built a highly successful e-commerce business.
As Denis Waitley writes in The Psychology of Winning:
Winners think in terms of I can, I will, I am.
Losers stay stuck in I should have or I can’t.
Belief fuels energy.
No one gets energized by what they believe will fail.
Greg invested himself in what he believed could succeed — and once one possibility became reality, he moved on to the next, including real estate.
What I’ve learned from him is simple but profound:
Stop focusing on impossibilities — train your eye for possibilities
Look for opportunity in every situation
Dream one size bigger
Learn from great achievers
Challenge the status quo
If “possibility thinking” feels like the wrong term for you, call it what it really is:
belief in yourself, confidence in your ability, the will to succeed, and faith in God.
For athletes facing what feels like an unclimbable mountain — stop asking what’s impossible. Ask what’s possible.
For leaders, CEOs, and entrepreneurs — growth doesn’t come from complaining about constraints, but from expanding vision.
And here’s my final takeaway:
Find yourself a friend like Greg.
Possibility thinkers bring contagious energy, courage, and momentum… and that can change everything.
